Book Review: Night by Elie Wiesel

The book Night, by Elie Wiesel, is about the holocaust, and death camps, and it is the author's personal account of this experience. Lots of rumours fly around the small villiage of Transyilvania where Elie lives. Then one day, out of nowhere, German soldiers arrive. In a matter of weeks the Germans had taken over the small town. People were restricted in where they could go and were forced into smaller and smaller areas of land. Elie watched as his friends and relatives were taken away, to a secret location. Then one day they came for him. Elie and his family were forced from their home, all possesions stripped from them. They were completely at the hands of the Germans. Taken to the camps by train, and packed in the cars they were tortured, and forced watch many of their friends and family die around them.

Writer's Notebook: Thoghts on Holocaust

After researching, and perusing vast amounts of information about the holocaust, I learned a lot about persecution. I think that the holocaust was a very serious and sad event. An entire race of people was almost killed during this time. I learned a lot about concentration camps. The rapid expansion of concentration camps led to many deaths. I think that over all, the holocaust was one of the worst events in history.

Writer's Notebook: Spring Break

I had a lot of fun on my spring break. I really like sping break. I went fishing a lot when it wasn't raining. It rained a lot, but there was still a lot of good fishing. I also enjoyed the time away from school. Kicking back and relaxing was fun, and I got to sleep in. With no homework I relaxed, and spent more time having fun. Over all, I liked my spring break, because of the fishing, and not having school, and I think that spring break was just a taste of summer.

Writer's notebook: favorite web-based tech tool

My favorite web-based tech tool that I use on my schools computers, is the google search engine. Google allows me to find information on practically any topic. Any assignment given at school, by a teacher, involving reasearch can be made easier with google. Google is also useful for learning miscelaneous, and trivial information on random topics.

Book Review: Black by Ted Dekker(432 pgs)

Tom Hunter is a guy in his twenties who lives in Denver, in an apartment with his sister. He works at a coffeeshop, and has several manuscripts of books he'd like published at home. He also was raised in the Philipines, learned how to defend himself against gangs there, and has borrowed a bunch of money that he has to pay back, which is why he's in Denver. He's running from the lenders. He's found by his lenders, and shot. He wakes up in a black forest, where he is told he's a survivor from a spaceship . Evil bats, specifically the leader named Teeleh, chase him and tear much of his flesh from him before he escapes across a river into a beautiful colorful forest, and he thinks Denver is a dream. Tom wakes up in a garbage can in Denver, but now, every time he falls asleep, he wakes up in the forest. And every time he falls asleep there, he wakes up on Earth. The green forest is inhabited by , perfect humans, and a girl named Rachelle who he falls in love with. But one man crosses the river, where he eats fruit from Teeleh in the black forest, and the whole world turns to evil. Tom has found out from Teeleh that on Earth, a virus will be unleashed called "the Raison strain," and Earth's inhabitants will be virtually wiped out. He tries to warn those on Earth, but by so doing, unknowingly gives the information needed to create this virus into the wrong hands. In the other world, he is becoming a great leader against those humans who have turned evil, and on Earth, he is becoming one who can come back to life, and the only one who can save Earth from destruction. His story is continued in "Red" and "White," which are the other two books in this series.

Writer's notebook- EOL (q-3)

The end of level literacy tests that juniors must take, to test is not a difficult test, but requires a lot of preparation. Students must take practice tests to prepare for the real test. Not because of the level of difficulty, but because failure on this test results in remediation. This year there is more motivation to do well. the schools have offered students with rewards like days off, if they do well. I like this test, and the rewards, it isn't difficult at all.

The holocaust, was one of the most terrible event in the history of the world. The nazi army was almost able to anhilate an intire race of people. The persecution of the jews was was carry out in such horrific ways. This was truly was one of the world's darkest hours.
